The environmental protection and the financial markets
makes a good business with the rise of the many purses of carbon in the
world. This situation is directly in relation with the protocol of
Kyoto which envisages the installation of an international exchanging system
of gas rights emission for purpose of greenhouse. According to the
Protocol, the companies will be able to also buy appropriations principally
country in the process of development while investing in projects of
reduction of CO2 emission. The goal is to support the investments in the
countries in emergence where the costs of emission reduction could be lower.
While waiting for this international market to be set up in
2008, several markets have been already developped in the world, in
France, in Germany, in Holland just as in Australia and in the United States,
these two countries did not sign the Kyoto protocol. It is interesting
to notice that for the time being, the emergent countries like India or China
(2nd CO2 transmitter in the world) are not constrained to reduce their
emissions. Basic stock exchange operation is about the same one everywhere.
The companies have been imposed quotas of emissions which must be respected.
Those which do not succeed in respecting their quotas must buy rights to emit
CO2. On the other hand, a company, which succeeds in lowering its emissions
will obtain appropriations that they could sell. When this market becomes
international, Russia should be supported, because since 1990, many
factories were closed what generated a surplus of 600 million tons that
it will be able to sell on the market, whereas the European Union is in
deficit and must buy 200 million tons of CO2. It should be noted that the
average price is 20 to 22 € (approximately 30 $ EDGE). |

Development of new nanoporeous solids to capture the carbon dioxide: The carbon dioxide belongs to gases for purpose of greenhouse designated as responsible for the climatic changes. Teams of France, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and of Slovakia (University Safarik de Kosice) currently work on the development of new adsorption membranes for the collecting of CO2. They study two types of nanoporeous structures. The first structure is made up of structure MCA and SBA silica. When the surface of this material is modified by adapted organic ligands, for example of the amines, this kind of material can bind in a selective and reversible way with the carbon dioxide molecules. In the second approach, the researchers use metal-worker-organics systems. These porous solids have an important surface density, and the CO2 molecules are attracted physically against the pores walls, allowing the storage of more molecules on a small surface. The construction of this station required an investment of approximately 800.000 euros, with return on investment at the end of six years, provided that 30% of energy thus produced either devoted to manufacture of electricity. |
